More than a car for the test
Some learners prefer their family car; others choose to attend with their instructor. Our focus is to help you prepare calmly and develop the habits you need for independent driving.
What the test day package includes
Before your test
A 40-minute warm-up drive, followed by 20 minutes of preparation at the test centre with your instructor.
At the test and afterwards
Use of the instructor’s car for the test, a debrief and return home afterwards.
The existing-customer option is for customers who have had at least one Rightway lesson, subject to the office confirming suitability and availability. The government test booking fee is additional.

Coordinate your test before booking
Call 07 5500 4000 so we can coordinate your test appointment with your availability and the instructor’s vehicle and calendar. Test availability changes, so plan ahead.
You can book directly with TMR or ask our team to help with the booking. Our booking fee is $79. This includes an administration component above TMR’s charge for coordinating the test and instructor. The current amount is subject to change.
Check your Queensland test eligibility
For the usual Queensland learner-to-provisional pathway, you must be at least 17 and have held your learner licence for at least one year. Learners under 25 generally need an approved logbook with 100 supervised hours, including 10 at night. Exemptions and other licence pathways can differ.
Car learner licence holders must pass the hazard perception test before booking their practical test. Where a logbook is required, it must be approved before booking. Check the Queensland licence steps and current practical test requirements before arranging a date.
You also need the required identity documents and a registered, roadworthy vehicle that meets TMR’s test requirements. Ask us about vehicle arrangements when coordinating your booking.
